Stop and smell the Iris's???

I don't have a favorite flower! So what was I to do when it came time to start thinking about flowers for this wedding. First things to think about is the colors of the wedding. Sure I love how the Gardenia smells but then I remembered that My groom, mom and brother all have a pollen allergy. With the help of Kori she and I explored ideas of non-floral bouquets and we did find a few. But they just didn't speak to me. Now I was back at the drawing board and needed to think of some flower(s) that wasn't too fragrant and would work with my color scheme and hopefully had some sort of sentimental meaning to me. Ah ha, I got it! My grandma favorite flower is an iris. Iris's would definitely bring out the lilacish color in my palette and they are not too fragrant (nursery grown ones don't have a lot of smell) so that they shouldn't bother anyone allergy. Personally I love the white one white for bridal flowers so I am caring white iris with white roses to add some filler and my bridesmaids will be caring a blueish lavender colored iris bouquets.

Cute Tee

I love T-shirts! But I only get to wear them in the spring and summer because #1 I live in Seattle and #2 I am always cold. But spring will soon be here and was just checking out some of my normal sites for cute shirts. I came across this one.

We both have tattoos and even though they are not matching I still loved this shirt. You can check out www.fredflare.com for more info.

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!!!

Yes I am that bride! I am the bride that has time on her hands. I am not the bride who will wait until the last minute to do things. Like Lady says "if it's a job worth doing, then it's a job worth doing well". And don't call me a bridezilla for being prepared. So one of my favorite things to do is send out a newsletter to all my bridemaids. I mainly wanted start this because I wanted the girls to get to know each other and know what was going on with wedding plans. Three of my maids are my good friends, one is grooms sister and the MOH is my sister. Since both Lena and Kori have told me how much they love getting letters in the mail I thought it would be a fun little something to look forward to getting each month. I also send one to my mom and his mom too. See below and you can see what I am talking about.

Colors

Once the thrill of being engaged and getting married had set in, it was time to get down to business. My hubby to be really took the time to make my proposal special to me so I wanted to try and do the same for the wedding for him. That was over 4 months ago and now I realize we just wont always agree on wedding plans. One this he had total control over was the colors. Right away he said "no pink" without any hesitation. So with my signature color out of the running I decided to allow him to direct the first vision we would have of our wedding. Ah deep breath... I let him pick the colors (said in a deep echoing voice). OK so it wasn't that big of a deal and he ended up going with colors I really like and could definitely build a wedding around. He chose Sapphire blue (his birthstone), French Blue (proposed to in Paris) and I got the swing vote of Lilac to add some femininity.

I love this dress!

So I don't want to put my dress on here. Why you ask??? The element of surprise! I want my friends & family that are coming to the wedding to be surprised by the dress. But here is a dress I love love love! I saw this picture in a magazine years before I ever planned on getting married. But it always stuck with me. The bonus about having a ballroom dress is it saves me from a lower body work out.

Blog Virgin

So like my good friend Sarah I want to be blogging. She has been blogging about her life as a newly married woman. And I decided I want some way to remember this year of planning my wedding. Please forgive me if my blogs are silly. I cannot keep boring my wonderful bridesmaids with random thoughts that pop in my head about the wedding. I definitely cannot tell my soon to be hubby about these things either. He barely acknowledges the important wedding details so no need to even bring up things like " should the petals down the aisle be white or would a color make it pop more" Or "I want to guest book to be sapphire blue not Tiffany blue". OK so I am not that crazy but you get the idea. I am hoping that this blog will allow me a place to vent and share details with my friends about all the wedding fun that is going on!
