Ceremony Decor

As I have mentioned before our ceremony will be held in Church. Its a lovely. Huge bell tower, beautiful stain glass windows and wooden pews. Now here is my dilemma. How much do I need to decorate? How much are your decorating your ceremony venue? Come on all crafty brides here is your time to shine! And all of the brides that feel like they have a black thumbs when it comes to crafts tell me what you plan on doing too, I am all ears of any ideas!

I am doing altar flowers, and leaving them behind as a donation to the church for the following Sunday's service. I am going to have pew bows, putting them every third pew or so down the aisle. I may do a small floral arrangement for the piano, since it is at the front of the church and off to the side, other then that, I am doing nothing in the sanctuary. I am going to put a sign in the narthex (lobby) with our picture saing Bride Last Name/Groom Last Name Wedding. There is a guestbook stand at the church, which I will probably tie a ribbon around. OK, it sounds like a lot, but really we aren't doing much at all!

ohhh that is good Manda I didnt even think of the piano. Mine is at the front too so I will need something on that to make sure it flows with the rest.

I'm also not doing much of anything for the sanctuary. My church has a lot of stained glass windows, and the altar has a large painting behind it, so I think a lot of decorations would look really distracting. I think any sort of pew decoration would just look really busy, plus since there is a lot of color from the windows it would likely clash.

We are going to have lots of pots of mum lining the walkway outside the church, in the window boxes in the sanctuary, and going up the steps to the altar (October wedding; fall colors...mums!). We'll leave the altar ones behind for the service on Sunday, and the rest are going to go to the reception site walkway.
